South Jersey Ports Celebrates a Joy Filled Take Your Child to Work Day

South Jersey Ports was buzzing with excitement as employees and their children came together for a memorable Take Your Child to Work Day. The terminals were filled with energy, curiosity, and plenty of smiles as kids explored the port, learned about their parents’ work, and enjoyed hands‑on activities designed to spark their interest in maritime operations.

The day brought together families from across the organization, creating a lively atmosphere that highlighted the strong sense of community within South Jersey Ports. Staff members volunteered their time to help organize tours, demonstrations, and kid‑friendly learning stations, turning the terminals into a place of discovery and fun.

Board of Directors member Sheila Roberts joined the celebration, spending time with families and speaking with employees about the importance of events like this. “We’re proud to open our doors to the next generation,” Roberts said. “Seeing these kids light up as they learn about the work their parents do reminds us how meaningful our mission is; not just for the region, but for the families who make this organization strong.”

Throughout the day, children had the chance to see equipment up close, meet port staff, and experience the unique environment where their parents work. The laughter, excitement, and adorable moments captured in photos made it clear that the event was a success.

South Jersey Ports is grateful to all employees, families, and volunteers who helped make the day special. The organization looks forward to continuing traditions that strengthen its workplace community and inspire future generations.
